It is important that caregivers working in the nursing home setting be familiar with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in order to deliver care that maximizes the quality of the life of those afflicted with this disease. Understanding the stages as well as the behaviors and cognitive skill level of each phase enables caregivers to provide individualized, person-centered care for these individuals in a caring and compassionate way. This educational activity is an in-depth, comprehensive look at AD with a clinical focus, intended for the licensed nurse. Other non-clinical team members would benefit from the HCA course
