Amy Makris RN, BSN
Amy joined Healthcare Academy in the late spring of 2022 and is currently working as the full-time assistant manager of clinical services. She has enjoyed this role and finds it fulfills her passion for research and education. Amy obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Grand Canyon University and is a Certified Hospice Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) and Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). She offers over sixteen years of nursing experience from various backgrounds including acute, long-term, and the community home health and hospice settings. She has specialized in pain and symptom management in the chronically ill and at the end-of-life. For many years Amy worked in nursing administration and education contributing to organizational, resident, and staff education and training needs. She is a dedicated patient and mental health advocate. Throughout her many years in the nursing profession, Amy understands the importance of resident and family education and hopes to contribute to making this course a valuable tool for healthcare professionals to use in practice.
