Learning Objectives

At the completion of this educational activity, the learner will be able to:

  1. Choose two (2) medication classes used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
  2. Identify two (2) strategies used to minimize dementia-related behaviors associated with advanced Alzheimer's disease.
  3. Select three (3) strategies for promoting ADLs for persons living with Alzheimer's disease (AD) or ADRD.
  4. Identify four (4) characteristics of a person-centered, Alzheimer’s-specific activity program.
  5. Relate two (2) causes of stress for caregivers of persons living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Learning Outcome

At the completion of this educational activity, the learner will be able to demonstrate knowledge about providing person centered care for the individual living with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders (ADRD) by passing a quiz with a score
of 85% or greater.

Linda has worked with older adults across the continuum of eldercare as a rehab nurse, geriatric nurse case manager, Director of Nursing, consultant, instructor, and clinical professor. She has served as the Director of Education at 240 and 180 bed long-term care facilities. In this role, she developed, implemented, and evaluated competency-based staff education to comply with regulatory training mandates. Linda
